According to ANI, the major auction for the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 would be conducted in Riyadh at the end of this month. According to the source, the IPL auction would be conducted in Riyadh on November 24 and 25. The blockbuster auction will bring a lot of money to several famous athletes. These include Jos Buttler, Aiden Markram, Glenn Maxwell, Faf du Plessis, KL Rahul, Rishabh Pant and Shreyas Iyer.
Prior to the auction, all ten teams had retained 46 players by investing Rs 558.5 crore. There are 36 Indians and 10 foreign players. There are ten uncapped players among the 36 Indians. The Kolkata Knight Riders released Shreyas Iyer, the Delhi Capitals released Rishabh Pant, while the Lucknow Super Giants released KL Rahul. In such a scenario, numerous franchises can place a large wager on these captains at the auction.
Mumbai kept the core.
The Mumbai Indians, a five-time winner, are confident in captain Hardik Pandya, former captain Rohit Sharma, fast bowler Jaspreet Bumrah, Suryakumar Yadav, and Tilak Verma. On the other side, Royal Challengers Bangalore kept only three players. These include Rajat Patidar, Yash Dayal, and Virat Kohli.
Punjab retained two players.
Punjab Kings stunned everyone by electing not to keep any capped players. Kings retained Shashank Singh and Prabhsimran Singh. In such a case, the franchise would join the auction with the highest bid (Rs 110.5 crore). The Rajasthan Royals have retained all six players. The Chennai Super Kings handed supporters excellent news when they retained MS Dhoni.
