Asad Rauf: ICC elite umpire of PAK cricket forced to sell shoes in Lahore

 

Asad Rauf: The game of cricket has made the lives of many players, but recently some such pictures of a legend from Pakistan have come,from which everyone is surprised to see. It can be seen in these pictures that a veteran of Pakistan cricket is now feeding his stomach by running a footwear shop.

Recently some pictures are becoming fiercely viral on social media. In the pictures it can be seen that Asad Rauf, one of the best umpires of Pakistan, is selling shoes in Lahore’s famous Landa market.  Rauf, who was controversial in his umpiring career, is now leading a simple life. He was a part of the ICC’s elite panel and has officiated in the IPL as well.

BCCI had banned Asad Rauf

Asad Rauf was an umpire in international cricket between 2000 and 2013. During this, he officiated in 49 Tests, 98 ODIs and 23 T20 matches. Asad  was banned for five years by the BCCI in 2016. He was accused of receiving expensive gifts from bookies. In a conversation with a news channel of Pakistan on the allegation of fixing. He said, ‘I had nothing to do with him, he came from his side and he took the decision.’

 Allegation of rape on Rauf

In 2012, a model from Mumbai had accused  Rauf of rape. The model had said that she was in a relationship with Rauf and had promised to marry her, but later reneged. However, Rauf vehemently denied these allegations. Regarding this matter, Rauf said, ‘When the girl’s case came up. I had gone to umpire in the IPL next year also.
