Sports Desk, New Delhi. Cricket Australia has taken a big decision regarding left-handed batsman David Warner. CA has lifted the lifetime captaincy ban on Warner. This clearly means that Warner will now be seen captaining his team Sydney Thunder in the Big Bash League. Warner presented his point in front of the three-member independent panel of the board, with which the panel seemed satisfied and lifted the ban on the 37-year-old player with immediate effect.
Warner was found guilty of ball tampering in the Cape Town Test match during the South Africa tour in 2018. Due to this, he was banned for one year from playing and a lifetime ban from captaincy. Warner was the vice-captain of the Australian team at that time.
The panel said in its statement that Warner presented his point very respectfully, which impressed all three. The panel said, “Warner adopted a respectful tone while responding and there was remorse in his language. Apart from this, the panel was unanimously impressed by what he said. His behavior has been excellent after the ban. This shows that he has made a lot of changes in himself. An example of this is that he no longer sledges anyone nor provokes anyone with his behavior.”
JUST IN!

Warner had appealed the captaincy ban imposed on him in the year 2022 and he has retired from all formats after the 2024 T20 World Cup. However, recently there are reports that Warner may return from retirement.
