We have seen many amazing catches on the cricket field. You must have seen players taking many catches by jumping in the air, diving while running, while in modern day cricket, relay catches have also made a lot of headlines. But today we are going to tell you about a catch which has shaken the entire cricket world. This catch is being counted among the best catches in the history of cricket. The catch was witnessed by people present at Wellington’s Basin Reserve on Saturday who had come to watch the match between Wellington and Central Stags in the T20 Super Smash.
The Central Stags team had come on the field to chase the target of 148 runs set by Wellington. The target was not big, so the team’s openers Will Young and Jack Boyle made a modest start. Both had scored 36 runs in 5.1 overs when Will Young went to play a big shot over mid-on.
On the ball of MW Snedden, Young only had to hit fielder Troy Johnson standing at mid-on and his boundary was confirmed, but Troy Johnson wanted something else.
As soon as Will Young played a shot over mid-on, Troy Johnson ran backwards. Troy covered a long distance and caught the ball, but he was unable to stop himself from going beyond the boundary and then he did something which everyone was surprised to see.
While sliding across the boundary, Troy Johnson suddenly turned and threw the ball inwards, Wellington captain Nick Kelly present there completed this catch and saved Troy Johnson’s hard work from going waste and also made this amazing catch. Also ended. The commentators and all the players including Troy Johnson and Nick Kelly were surprised to see his effort.
Troy Johnson himself could not believe that he had done something like this. You also watch the video-
