The 39-year-old had posted a video on his Instagram handle to inform fans about his retirement. Now there is talk of his retirement from IPL, but Rituraj Gaikwad, who played with him in Chennai Super Kings, has said that no one knows what decision he is going to take.

Rituraj Gaikwad made a disclosure while retiring from international cricket and told that around 10 to 15 players were training with Dhoni in Chennai, but none of the players were aware of the retirement, as he did it on 15 August. Practiced like any other day. CSK players came to know about Dhoni’s retirement through internet media.

At the same time, when Rituraj was asked about Dhoni’s retirement from IPL. He said that no one knows what is going on in the mind of the CSK captain.

Speaking to India TV, Gaikwad said, “I have no idea about this (if MS Dhoni will retire before next year’s IPL), as I remember he made his (international) sudden debut on August 15 last year. Retirement was announced. That day, 10-12 people were practicing in Chennai just before we left for Dubai. Our practice ended at around 6.30 pm and at 7 pm. We all including Mahi bhai sat down for dinner and all of a sudden Somebody told me on Instagram that Mahi bhai has announced his retirement! There was no sense that something like this was going to happen, no discussion, no one knew anything. So, you can never know him. Something. Might as well be.”
