Actually, Nepal team’s leg spinner Sandeep Lamichhane was not given visa by America, because last year a 17-year-old girl had filed a complaint against Sandeep in a police station in Kathmandu. That girl had accused him of rape.
In this case, Sandeep was sentenced to 8 years by a court of Kathmandu Court, which Sandeep challenged in the High Court and he got success. The High Court had acquitted Sandeep in this case. After this, there were full hopes of him playing in the T20 World Cup 2024, but America has refused to give him a visa.
The people of Nepal are very angry with America for not giving a visa to Sandeep and they are expressing their anger on social media. After not giving a visa to Lamichhane, the people of Nepal started protesting. People were seen raising their voices for Lamichhane on the streets.
Nepal’s first encounter in T20 World Cup will be with Netherlands
Before the T20 World Cup, the Nepal team reached America, where in the absence of Sandeep Lamichhane, they played a warm-up match against Canada.
