South Africa won the 2nd Test and the series against Pakistan by making the 41 runs it needed on the morning of the fourth day on Sunday.
Still, South Africa got there and was 43-1 to seal a nine-wicket win and a seventh straight series win at home by taking a 2-0 lead over Pakistan in the three-Test contest. The final Test in Johannesburg starts Friday.
Team Pakistan fell to a 2nd straight series loss and failed throughout to deal with the South Africa pace bowling attack.

PAKISTAN INNIGS
Pakistan bowled out for 177 in the first innings at Newlands and South Africa was in control after that, with Dale Steyn’s seven wickets in the match the fast bowler’s best performance since a career-threatening shoulder injury in 2016.
“We didn’t get enough runs in the first innings. Maybe close ro 250-300 would have been good. I think if we played 2 or 3 practice matches prior to the series it would be helpful for us,” said losing captain Sarfraz Ahmed after another loss in South Africa.

“We beat the big teams that have come here, all of them have come with good bowling attacks. Obviously Day 1 was tough, but it got easier to bat on Day 2 and 3. There was enough in it for everyone. At times it was difficult, but that’s Test cricket,” he added.
Mohammad Amir effectively conceded 10 runs in extras off two successive deliveries, with a wide and a no-ball which both flew over Sarfraz’s head.
