The International Cricket Council (ICC) has released the schedule of matches for the T20 World Cup 2022 to be held in Australia this year. India has to play its first match in this tournament against Pakistan on 23 October. This match will be played at Melbourne Cricket Ground.
India and Pakistan last played a World Cup match during the 2015 World Cup in Adelaide, Australia. The first 6 days of the tournament i.e. from October 16 to October 21 will be played against the first round of the tournament. After that the matches of Super 12 will start from 22nd October.
16 TEAMS WILL PARTICIPATE IN T20 WORLD CUP 2022
The T20 World Cup 2022 to be held in Australia is going to be very exciting. 16 teams will participate in this. 12 teams of the tournament have already been decided. India, Pakistan, New Zealand, Afghanistan, Australia, Bangladesh, England and South Africa are in the Super Eight. Namibia, Scotland, Sri Lanka and West Indies will play the qualifiers before the main draw. The remaining four teams will also play the qualifiers.
Finals to be play on November 13
The T20 World Cup will be played on 7 grounds in Australia in comparison to 2022. These include Adelaide, Brisbane, Geelong, Hobart, Melbourne, Perth and Sydney. The final match will be played at Melbourne Cricket Ground on 13 November. The semi-final matches are to be held in Sydney and Adelaide on 9 November. Ticket sales for World Cup matches will start on 7 February
INDIA MATCHE SCHEDULE IN T20 WORLD CUP 2022
India will play a total of five matches in the entire tournament. India’s first match against Pakistan on 23 October, second match on 27 October with Group A runner up, third match against South Africa on 30 October, followed by fourth match on 2 November with Bangladesh and fifth match on 6 November with Group B.

The T20 World Cup matches will be held at seven venues – Adelaide, Brisbane, Geelong, Hobart, Melbourne, Perth and Sydney. The final of the T20 World Cup will be held on 13 November at the Melbourne Cricket Ground. At the same time, the semi-finals will be held on 9 and 10 November at Sydney Cricket Ground and Adelaide Oval.
